Pentecost Sunday

With this feast we celebrate the birthday of the Church because it was the first Pentecost Sunday that the infant church was launched on its course and took on its missionary role. The Spirit of the Lord transformed the apostles from a fearful group to courageous men announcing the Good News about the mighty acts of God.
The action of the Spirit continues in our own time and is first evident in our lives at baptism. Through the prayer of the Church, the Holy Spirit comes to us to lead us in the fullness of God’s truth and love.

Parish Donation Receipts

This is the time of the year when the parish provides parishioners with a receipt for the donations that they have given during the year to 31 March 2020. However, because of the lockdown, the processing of the receipts for the tax credit has be delayed.

To produce all the Tax Letters will require at least three of us to break our "Bubbles" and then how we distribute the letters to all the Parishioners will be a further problem. The letters cannot be collected from the Churches, and delivering them all using NZ Post will be slow and expensive to depleted Parish Funds.
We are aware of the problem and doing as much as we can to comply with the Regulations and produce the paperwork as soon as we possibly can do so - legally and safely.

Contributions to the Parish

We acknowledge that this lockdown has placed financial restrictions on many parishioners and we pray that you are getting through this crisis with the support you need. In light of this, we wish to thank the many parishioners who have managed to continue their automatic payment contributions during this period, and other parishioners who have made online donations.

Any parishioners who may wish to contribute to the parish via internet banking may do so as follows:

The parish bank account number is 02-0100-0120990-018.

Please ensure that you provide the following details with each payment:

  1. Your initials and name
  2. If you normally pay via the envelope system then please quote your envelope number
  3. The word “collection”

Parishioners who usually donate by envelope or cash and who do not have access to internet banking may contribute after this crisis has abated.

God bless you all,
Fr. Brian Lange
